Scientific profileDr. Girish K Radhakrishnan holds an MSc in Microbiology from Mahatma Gandhi University and a PhD in Biotechnology from Madurai Kamaraj University. He undertook post-doctoral research in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and subsequently served there as a Research Assistant Professor. He has held progressively senior scientific positions at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad, and is currently a Scientist F.

His research career includes approximately 19 years of post-PhD work on the zoonotic pathogen Brucella melitensis, with a strong focus on host–pathogen interactions, bacterial persistence, immune signalling and infectious disease biology. His published research has addressed Brucella effector proteins, host responses, intracellular infection mechanisms, vaccine-related studies and diagnostic development, including work on improved vaccines and DIVA-capable serodiagnostic assays for brucellosis.

He brings extensive BSL-3 research experience, biosafety and biosecurity knowledge, including BSL-3 training approved by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and service on Institutional Biosafety Committees associated with biotechnology, academic and research organisations. At GKR, his leadership connects deep infectious-disease expertise with responsible R&D, technology development, partnerships and the company's One Health vision.

Scientific profileRicha Prakash is a microbiologist and infectious disease researcher with more than 4.5 years of experience in infectious disease research and a postgraduate background in microbial sciences. Her research interests span microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, genetics, cell biology and genetic engineering.

Her work includes research on Brucella and zoonotic diseases, studies of immuno-dominant Brucella proteins for improved diagnostic assays and vaccines for brucellosis, and evaluation of antimicrobial potential against Brucella melitensis and Brucella abortus using in-vitro and intracellular infection models. She has hands-on experience with molecular biology workflows and cell-culture-based experimental work.

She has worked in BSL-3/ABSL-3 environments and brings experience in infectious disease research, scientific coordination, project execution and collaborative research. At GKR, her leadership role supports scientific direction, research programmes, partnerships and the translation of biotechnology ideas into responsible, practical solutions.
